How can I bid?
Under each auction you will find the items to be auctioned (online catalogue). You can bid on each of these items.
Go to the menu item ‘Auctions’
Click on ‘Online auctions’ and select the relevant auction.
All items in the auction are listed here with a picture, minimum price and description. To place a bid,
please click on the item or the picture. A new window will open with detailed information on the respective item
and the bidding fields.
If you would like to place a bid, enter your bid amount and confirm your bid. You will receive an email informing you that
you have placed a bid and that you are the highest bidder or have been outbid.
Maximum bid / bidding agent
A bidding agent is provided as part of the online auctions. After submitting a maximum bid, a bidder's bid is automatically
increased step by step until his maximum bid is reached, as soon as another bidder bids, until the bidder is again the highest bidder.
The bidder is bound to his bid until it is cancelled by a higher bid.
With the help of the automatic bidding agent/maximum bid, bidders can specify the maximum price they are prepared to pay for an item.
If the respective maximum bid is outbid by other bidders, a notification is automatically sent by e-mail.
Please enter your maximum bid for an item in the bidding field and confirm. You will then automatically be offered the next bid level
that makes you the highest bidder. The bidding levels are set individually for each item before an auction.
Notes:
- If more than one equal maximum bid has been placed, the bidder who placed their maximum bid first will become the highest bidder.
- If different maximum bids have been submitted, they will automatically outbid each other until the bidder with the higher maximum bid is the highest bidder.
- Outbidders are notified by e-mail and can place a new maximum bid or adjust their bid.
Example: The item has a starting price of €100. You would like to pay a maximum of €500 for this item and enter 500 in the Maximum bid field and confirm.
If there are no other bids, €100 is automatically bid.
If another interested party then bids e.g. €150, the bidding agent automatically raises your bid to the next bid level at the same time,
with which you outbid the other bidder's €150. This means that you remain the highest bidder up to €500.
End of bidding reached, but bidding period still running?
After each bid has been placed, the auction for the respective item is extended by a further 2, 3 or 5 minutes (see online auction conditions)
until no more bids are received.
What is a free sale?
In a free sale, your ‘bids’ are understood as a price proposal. If the suggested price matches our asking price and there are no higher bids,
you will be awarded the sale.
What is a post-auction sale?
In a post-auction sale, items that have not been sold during an auction are offered for sale again. See also ‘free sale’.
Winning bid
The winning bid at an auction or, for example, at an asset sale is always the bidder with the highest bid. The winning bid obliges
the bidder to accept and pay for the item. Any bid may be rejected without giving reasons and at the discretion of the
auctioneer/seller and the knockdown may be refused. Upon acceptance of the bid, the auctioned item shall be deemed
to have been handed over to the highest bidder, including the transfer of risk. However, ownership shall not pass
to the successful bidder/buyer until the purchase price has been paid in full.
Collection - When can I collect purchased items?
You will find all the necessary information about the collection dates, the collection location and, if applicable,
further information in the auction information. The items you have purchased must be collected within the period specified in the information.
Otherwise you will incur further costs. If in doubt, please contact us.
Prices - net or gross?
All our prices are quoted net, plus buyer's premium and VAT. Exceptions: Items exempt from VAT are sold without VAT.
What is commission?
In principle, we charge a so-called surcharge of 18% on the net surcharge price. In addition, the statutory VAT of currently 19% will be added.
Example:
You bid for an item for 100 euros, on top of this there is a commission of 18%, i.e. 118.00 euros. The VAT of 19% will be added to this,
resulting in a payment amount of € 140.42.
In some cases, it is possible that no VAT will be charged. However, this will then be pointed out.
What is a reservation?
If a bid is accepted subject to reservation, this does not imply any right to purchase the item. In this case, the bidder is
bound to his bid for 14 calendar days after the end of the auction or for a period agreed in writing by both parties in advance.
If the auctioneer does not finally accept the bid within this period, the purchase will not be concluded.
Please note: Collection will be delayed until the final acceptance of the bid, as no invoice will be issued before then.
Our clerks will contact bidders with conditional knockdowns shortly after the end of an auction.
Payment
In online auctions, payment is generally only possible by bank transfer. In general, payment is due immediately upon receipt of the invoice.
